Phuket – Beach Paradise

With crystal blue waters and white sands, Thailand’s Southern region is renowned for having some of the most pristinely beautiful beaches in the world. Whether you prefer the more international tropical island of Phuket or hidden gems like Krabi, the South of Thailand has enough seaside beauty to appeal to all kinds of travellers. Five-star resorts spare no expense on luxury amenities and some even have their own private stretches of coastline.

At approximately 540 square kilometres, Phuket is the largest island in Thailand with 36 beaches. The nicer seashores are found on the west coast and include Patong, Kamala and Bang Tao, while the east coast, covered by mangroves and rocky beaches, offer stunning views of nearby islands. Phuket Town itself is a marvel filled with gorgeous Sino-Portuguese mansions, cafes and shophouses. Rassada Pier is Phuket’s main departure point for ferry trips to surrounding islands, including the idyllic Phi Phi Islands, which were the setting for the Leonardo DiCaprio movie, The Beach (2000).
