MICE Career Advisory Session

On 1st September 2019, TICA visited Mae Fah Luang University for an exclusive MICE career advisory session. Almost 1,000 students attended the event, which saw TICA working in partnership with TCEB, TEA and EMA to give all attending students a deeper understanding of what MICE is and the possible career paths they can pursue in this flourishing industry.


TICA Training Seminar –“The Unlocked Recipes to Success in MICE Management”

In order to aid the development of incentive programmes in Thailand, TICA hosted a training seminar “The Unlocked Recipes to Success in MICE Management” by Khun Kritsanee Srisatin on 5th September at Grand Hyatt Erawan Bangkok focusing on conceptualising creative itineraries for events, in addition to the implementation and planning of those events. The workshop covered handling a proposal professionally, working with stakeholders, improving service standards, preparing operation manuals, and gaining confidence in conducting pre-con meetings, as well as site management.


TDU Ayutthaya (September 19-21, 2019)
Day 1:

The first day of TDU Ayutthaya proved to be an enriching experience for all delegates. In the morning, TICA members were up bright and early to enjoy a healthy breakfast and site inspection at Mövenpick BDMS Wellness Resort Bangkok, before departing to Bang Sai Wellness City Ayutthaya.

Upon arrival, the group took a tour of the farm, and assisted in planting vegetables for the patients in need. Subsequently, they departed for the Koh Kerd Community village to learn about their unique way of life through hands-on activities that included the preparation of local dishes like Young Rice Milk Custard and Crispy Rice Noodle.

After lunch, came the Pa Sak River Cruise and a visit to 'Talad Nam Krungsri,' a traditional floating market featuring famous Ayutthaya street foods. The evening ended with an exquisite dinner by the riverside at De Riva Ayothaya, and then the group headed back to retire for the night at Classic Kameo Ayutthaya's deluxe accommodations.

Day 2:

TICA delegates experienced plenty of cultural diversions on day two of TDU Ayutthaya. After a rejuvenating breakfast, the group paid a visit to the famous handmade knife village at Arunyik, to create their very own engraved knives. Then, the delegates toured the hidden city at Prasart Nakornluang, filled with Khmer influences, stopping for lunch at Baan Watcharachai, a charming restaurant set by the riverside.

The second half of the day provided even more cultural excitement in the form of a tour and photo shoot session at Wat Chaiwatthanaram, a replica of the famous Angkor Wat. In the late afternoon, the group stopped by the Toy Museum, Ayutthaya's newest venue. Following an elegant dinner hosted by The Wine Ayudhya, the group headed back to Classic Kameo Ayutthaya to rest for the night.

Day 3:

The third day of TDU Ayutthaya started with a trip to Sam Pa Nieng Village at Baan Preak, where delegates were warmly welcomed by the village headman and escorted by the Sam Pa Nieng limousine or ‘Rod-E-tak’ to learn more about their special OTOP products. Then, it was time for the Open Mice Session at Ayutthaya City Park, after a quick lunch break. Here, delegates shared their experiences of the trip, prompting a lively discussion on the key draws of all the attractions they had visited.

AMF Taipei (September 18-19, 2019)

Held at the Taipei International Convention Center from 18-19 September 2019, the Asian MICE Forum featured some of the industry’s most knowledgeable experts, as they delved into the factors that boost event participation. TICA President Sumate Sudasna also graced the event as a panelist to share some important insights during the CEO discussion on the first day of the event.
