Thailand rolls out "MICE one stop service"

To solidify its status as a premier destination for international events, the Thailand Convention and Exhibition Bureau (TCEB) is launching the "Thailand MICE One-Stop Service" to streamline access for international MICE travelers. This initiative is a collaboration between TCEB and key government agencies, including the Department of Consular Affairs, Airports of Thailand (AOT), and Immigration Division 2.

Key measures to facilitate easier access to Thailand include :

Visa for MICE Visitors and Organisers

  • MICE visitors can now enjoy a 60-day stay, extendable by an additional 30 days.
  • Event organisers are granted a 90-day stay, which can be extended up to one year.
New Visa Measures

  • Expanded Visa Exemption: The visa exemption now includes 93 countries and territories, up from 57, with permitted stays extended from 30 to 60 days.
  • Visa-on-Arrival: The visa-on-arrival option is now available to citizens of 31 countries, an increase from 19, allowing for a 15-day stay.
  • E-Visa Services: E-visa services are being implemented globally, with the goal of covering all 94 Thai embassies and consulates by the end of the year.
Airport Enhancements

  • Increased Staffing: 330 additional officers will be stationed at checkpoints during peak hours to streamline processes.
  • Automatic Channel System: A new system will double passport processing capacity.
  • Enhanced Security and Efficiency: The Thailand Immigration System (TIS) and Advance Passenger Processing (APPS) will improve both security and efficiency.
  • MICE Lane Services: VIP MICE Lane Services are now operational in Bangkok, with plans to expand to Phuket, Chiang Mai, and Udon Thani airports.

MICE Lane Service

AOT and Immigration Division 2 will collaborate with TCEB on a case-by-case basis to separate MICE groups from ordinary travelers, providing special lanes for these groups as needed. Currently, MICE Lane Services for VIPs are operational in Bangkok, with plans to expand to Phuket and Chiang Mai airports by 2025, and Udon Thani airport by 2026.
Speaking at a press conference, TCEB President Chiruit Isarangkun Na Ayuthaya highlighted this initiative as preparation for upcoming bid-won events. These include the IDF Diabetes World Congress 2025 in Bangkok, the IMF and World Bank Group Annual Meeting 2026 in Bangkok, the Global Sustainable Tourism Conference 2026 in Phuket, and the International Horticultural Expo 2026 in Udon Thani.
