A Partnership for Prosperity: Korea and Thailand Unite for MICE

A Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) was signed on the 25th of September, 2024 in Bangkok to strengthen cooperation between South Korea's Chungcheongbuk-do Province and Thailand's MICE industry.

Korea and Thailand have maintained friendly relations for a long time, and the gathering was a significant step towards strengthening cooperation between the two countries in the fields of tourism and the MICE industry.

The ceremony was attended by high-ranking officials from both countries, including:

  1. Governor Kim Young-hwan of Chungcheongbuk-do Province.
  2. Mr. Kim Gab-soo, President of the Chungbuk Cultural Foundation.
  3. Mr. Chiruit Isarangkun Na Ayuthaya, President of the Thailand Convention and Exhibition Bureau (TCEB).
  4. Mr. Sumate Sudasna, President of the Thailand Incentive and Convention Association (TICA).

The Quadripartite Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) outlines a collaborative framework between Thailand Convention and Exhibition Bureau (TCEB), Thailand Incentive and Convention Association (TICA), Chungcheongbuk-do Province of the Republic of Korea, and Chungbuk Cultural Foundation (CBFC) to promote exchanges and cooperation in the Meetings, Incentives, Conventions, and Exhibitions (MICE)/Business Events sector. The MOU aims to foster stronger ties between Thailand and Chungcheongbuk-do, leveraging their respective strengths in the MICE industry to create a more dynamic and competitive ecosystem.

The signing ceremony was a significant step towards strengthening bilateral relations and fostering economic growth in both countries.
