Thailand’s dedication to sustainable and innovative tourism has been recognised at the regional level, with two leading agencies earning top honours at the Pacific Asia Travel Association (PATA) Gold Awards 2025.
The Designated Areas for Sustainable Tourism Administration (DASTA) received the prestigious Grand Award for Sustainability & Social Responsibility for its work with the Ban Na Ton Chan Homestay Community Enterprise—a standout example of community-led cultural heritage preservation rooted in long-term local engagement.
DASTA also claimed five Gold Awards in the same category, recognising initiatives focused on climate action, inclusive tourism, women and youth empowerment, and destination resilience. These awards underscore Thailand’s leadership in promoting tourism that supports communities and safeguards natural and cultural assets.
The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) received two Gold Awards in the Marketing category, continuing a strong track record of success. Its “Love Season” campaign was named Best Integrated Digital Marketing Campaign (Destination) for its emotionally resonant digital storytelling that inspired romantic travel. The second, Best Travel Photography, was awarded for “The Hidden Romance of Sam Roi Yot”, a visual showcase of one of Thailand’s most peaceful coastal destinations.
TAT Governor, Ms Thapanee Kiatphaibool, commented: “We are deeply honoured by this recognition from PATA. It reaffirms our team’s dedication to creating meaningful, creative campaigns that resonate with travellers. We also extend heartfelt congratulations to DASTA for its outstanding work in sustainable tourism.”
This latest recognition follows several international accolades, including honours in the Travel + Leisure World’s Best Awards 2025.
Award winners will be celebrated at the PATA Gold Awards Gala Dinner on 27 August, during the PATA Travel Mart 2025 in Bangkok, where winning projects will also be exhibited.
