Chiang Mai to Host 6 International Conferences in 2025

Chiang Mai, Thailand's northern capital, is gaining ground as a top MICE destination, securing six international conferences in 2025 in fields such as engineering, medicine, environmental science, and social science. The city is also set to welcome a major international festival industry event in early 2026.

While Bangkok has long dominated the scene, Chiang Mai's rise signals a broader diversification of Thailand's MICE landscape. As an official MICE City and regional economic hub, it offers modern venues, vibrant culture, and stunning natural surroundings.

Over 3,600 delegates are expected across a variety of venues, including the Chiang Mai International Exhibition and Convention Centre and leading hotels:

  • 25th Asia-Australia Conference of Radiological Technologists (AACRT 2025) 5-7 June | Chiangmai Grandview Hotel & Convention Center
  • 7th International Conference on Public Policy (ICPP 2025) 2-4 July | Chiang Mai International Exhibition and Convention Centre
  • 15th International Conference on Precision Engineering and Sustainable Manufacturing (PRESM 2025) 6-11 July | Chiang Mai Marriott Hotel
  • Society of Instrument and Control Engineers Annual Conference (SICE 2025) 9-12 September | The Empress Hotel and Convention Centre
  • 39th International Conference on Information Networking (ICOIN 2025) 15-17 January | Kantary Hills Hotel
  • 2nd International Conference on Materials for Green Future 28 April-1 May | Shangri-La Chiang Mai

Chiang Mai's reputation is further boosted by its selection to host the 2026 IFEA Asia Pinnacle Awards & Asia Festival City Conference, following its wins at the Asia Festival Awards 2025 for Asia World Heritage City and Best Event Programme & PR/Marketing for the Yi Peng Festival.

Mr Chiruit Isarangkun Na Ayuthaya, President of TCEB, shared: "Chiang Mai offers the convenience of a modern city with the unique charm of Lanna culture. Its variety of venues and community-driven experiences make every event impactful and memorable."

Just 1.15 hours from Bangkok, Chiang Mai is also directly connected to Phuket, Krabi, Khon Kaen, and major cities in Mainland China, Lao PDR, Malaysia, Myanmar, and Taiwan. With its blend of infrastructure, accessibility, and cultural depth, Chiang Mai is rapidly becoming a leading choice for international business events.
