Chiang Rai to Host PATA Destination Marketing Forum 2025

The Pacific Asia Travel Association (PATA) has confirmed Chiang Rai, Thailand, as the host city for the PATA Destination Marketing Forum 2025 (PDMF 2025), taking place from 1–3 December at the Heritage Chiang Rai Hotel & Convention.

The event returns to Chiang Rai after almost a decade, following its previous hosting in 2016. This year’s theme, “Steeped in Tradition, Rooted in Wellness: Weaving the Meaningful Narrative of Travel,” reflects a focus on sustainability and cultural distinctiveness in destination marketing.

The forum is co-hosted by the Thailand Convention and Exhibition Bureau (TCEB), Chiang Rai City, and the Designated Areas for Sustainable Tourism Administration (DASTA), with support from the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT).

Delegates can expect a programme combining a day of local immersion with curated technical tours and a day of strategic sessions. Registration is complimentary and available on a first-come, first-served basis, with PATA members given priority. In line with sustainability goals, a USD 10 carbon offset fee will be applied to support a Thai environmental initiative.

Chiang Rai, in northern Thailand, is known for its cultural landmarks, scenic landscapes, and community-based tourism, making it a fitting host for this international forum.
