Bangkok to Host Interferry 2026

Bangkok has been confirmed as the host city for Interferry 2026, marking the 50th Annual Interferry Conference and a major milestone for the global ferry industry. Organised by Interferry, the international trade association representing ferry operators worldwide, the conference will take place from 31 October to 4 November 2026.

Celebrating five decades of international collaboration, Interferry 2026 highlights Thailand’s growing reputation as a regional hub for maritime transport, tourism and innovation. The selection of Bangkok reflects strong confidence in Thailand’s maritime infrastructure and its strategic position within the Asia-Pacific region.

Interferry Chief Executive Officer Mike Corrigan described the anniversary conference as a defining moment for the global ferry community. Under the theme “Stronger Together”, the event will bring industry leaders together to share best practices, strengthen safety standards and deepen partnerships to ensure ferry services remain resilient as passenger expectations continue to evolve.

Widely recognised as the premier networking platform for the global ferry sector, Interferry 2026 is expected to attract more than 400 senior executives, shipowners and maritime experts from over 270 companies across 40 countries. Discussions will focus on key industry issues including route management, IMO safety regulations, vessel design and technology, clean energy adoption and sustainable maritime development. Hosting the conference in Bangkok underscores the city’s diverse water transport ecosystem, from urban river services to island connectivity, which closely aligns with Interferry’s priorities of sustainable mobility, urban connectivity and environmental stewardship.

Supapan Pichaironarongsongkram, Chairwoman of Chaophraya Express Boat and Supatra Real Estate Group and Conference President for Interferry 2026, highlighted the event as an important opportunity to showcase Thailand’s strengths in safety, service quality and the integration of water transport with tourism and the local economy. Supawan Teerarat, President of the Thailand Convention and Exhibition Bureau (TCEB), added that hosting Interferry 2026 will further reinforce Bangkok’s position as a world-class destination for international Business Events.
