Thai Exhibition Association unveils MICE Masterplan 2026-2027

The Thai Exhibition Association (TEA) has unveiled the Thailand MICE Masterplan 2026-2027, outlining a forward-looking roadmap to strengthen the country's exhibition and Business Events sector. The framework will be formally introduced at Thailand MICE X-Change 2026 (TMX 2026), taking place from 29-30 April 2026 at the Queen Sirikit National Convention Centre (QSNCC).

Held under the theme “Innovation and Sustainability: Driving Thailand's MICE Industry towards Excellence,” the third edition of TMX highlights TEA's continued emphasis on digital transformation, sustainable practices, and industry-wide collaboration to strengthen Thailand's global competitiveness. The event is expected to welcome more than 4,000 delegates, feature 100 exhibitors, and facilitate over 360 pre-arranged business matching meetings. In addition, the programme will include 15 high-level conference sessions alongside curated networking opportunities designed to foster meaningful connections across the industry.

Loy Joon How, President of TEA and General Manager of IMPACT Exhibition and Convention Center, emphasised the significance of the event, noting that TMX goes beyond a traditional industry gathering. He described it as a strategic platform that reflects a shared ambition to future-proof Thailand's MICE sector through innovation, sustainability, and stronger international partnerships, while reinforcing the continued importance of face-to-face engagement in building trust and long-term business growth.

Thailand's exhibition sector continues to demonstrate strong momentum. The country hosted 199 B2B and B2C exhibitions in 2024, increasing to 214 in 2025. During the same period, total exhibition space sold rose from 25 million to over 27 million square metres, reflecting sustained expansion and growing demand.

Dr. Duangdej Yuaikwarmdee, Director of the Exhibitions Department at the Thailand Convention & Exhibition Bureau (TCEB), highlighted that Thailand's exhibitions have evolved into dynamic business ecosystems integrating trade, innovation, investment, and knowledge exchange. She noted that TMX plays a critical role in strengthening industry capabilities and aligning the sector with digital transformation, artificial intelligence, and rapidly evolving market expectations.

The Thailand MICE Masterplan 2026-2027 positions TMX 2026 as a flagship platform, showcasing the country's readiness to advance through innovation, sustainability, and cross-border collaboration within the global Business Events landscape.
