In a huge win for the Thailand Convention and Exhibition Bureau (TCEB), more than 500 elite exhibition professionals from 50 countries will descend on Bangkok in November for the largest meeting of the global exhibition industry.

The Thai capital on Nov 6-9 will host the 86th UFI Global Congress, which takes on the theme of “Platforms of Trust”. The theme emphasises that trustworthiness is key to the entire exhibition value chain covering exhibition platforms, marketplaces, service providers, venues and partners.

According to TCEB, the hosting of such an esteemed events is a testament to the Thailand MICE industry’s “strong private and public sector cooperation in support of the Thai government’s 4.0 initiative”. The bureau has joined forces with multiple partners, including Bangkok Metropolitan Administration, Thai Exhibition Association (TEA), Thailand Incentive and Convention Association (TICA), Thai Hotels Association (THA) and Bangkok River Partners, to host the event. The congress will be held at the Avani+ Bangkok Riverside Hotel.

Describing it as a “big win” for Thailand’s MICE industry, TCEB president Chiruit Isarangkun Na Ayuthaya said: “The UFI Global Congress is known as the exhibition industry’s largest global meeting on the year and is the ‘must attend’ event for industry professionals.”

“Each year its updates set the trends that move the global exhibition industry forward and to host them in Thailand is a huge win for the country’s MICE sector.”

UFI managing director and CEO Kai Hattendorf said Thailand is a natural choice to host the congress.

“Thailand’s global profile as a hub for international exhibitions has grown significantly in recent years, and our latest UFI research data show that the Thai market is well-positioned for additional growth in the years to come,” said Mr. Hattendorf.
