86th UFI Global Congress

The Thailand Convention & Exhibition Bureau (TCEB) hosted the largest global meeting of the exhibition industry, the 86th UFI Global Congress, from 6-9 November 2019. TCEB joined forces with its partners, namely the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration, the Thai Exhibition Association (TEA), the Thai Incentive and Convention Association (TICA), the Thai Hotels Association (THA) and Bangkok River Partners to welcome about 500 leading exhibition professionals from over 50 countries to the biggest congress of the Global Association of the Exhibition Industry (UFI). As one of the most anticipated events of the year, the UFI Global Congress provided updates on the trends and challenges of the industry, shared developments in their regions, and discussed ongoing initiatives and activities.

Focus on Thailand

Showcasing Thailand’s potential as a prominent platform for international trade shows in Southeast Asia, the FOCUS ON THAILAND event was a half-day affair presented by TCEB on 9 November 2019, in collaboration with Thai Exhibition Association (TEA), that was part of the UFI Global Congress line-up. The event featured a keynote presentation on the country’s government policy on MICE moving forward, and a panel discussion on the best practices to create a successful business partnership in Thailand. The afternoon ended with a one-hour quick business matching session to connect attendees with competent Thai exhibition professionals.
