Khon Kaen

Thailand’s Northeast region is stunningly rural.

The breathtaking countryside has crystal blue skies and emerald green fields dotted with grazing buffalo and traditional wooden houses on stilts. It is also home to numerous natural and cultural sites, including national parks teeming with waterfalls and wildlife.

When it comes to MICE events, this region has a lot to offer, along with infrastructure, quality hotels and meeting facilities found in its major cities, such as Khon Kaen, Ubon Ratchathani and Udon Thani.

Many village temples regularly hold fairs with live performances of local country music, known as luk thung and molam. Numerous highways also criss-cross the region and Laos is conveniently accessible at several points.

As part of the established ASEAN Economic Community, the government of Thailand has allocated significant funds towards strengthening transportation infrastructure. In the coming years, MICE planners can be rest assured that travelling within the region, and to other ASEAN countries through Thailand, will become more convenient.
