The Government Public Relations Department of Thailand (PRD) has announced that the exhibition of the Royal Crematorium for His Majesty the late King Bhumibol Adulyadej will open for viewing by the general public from 2 to 30 November, 2017, between 07:00 and 22:00 Hrs.

Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn will preside over the opening ceremony of the exhibition on 2 November, 2017, according to the PRD.

The public will be able to view the Royal Crematorium and the supplementary structures in the exhibition in order to learn more about arts and culture regarding this ceremony.

The exhibition, at the Royal Merit-Making Pavilion, or Phra Thinang Song Tham, will feature His Majesty the late King Bhumibol Adulyadej’s biography and royally initiated projects in all parts of the country.

At the Government Officials’ Pavilions, or Sala Luk Khun, the exhibition will illustrate the construction of the Royal Crematorium, the renovation of royal chariots and palanquins, as well as the inclusion of architectural works and artistic creations.

During the exhibition period, cultural shows will be performed between 18:00 and 22:00 Hrs.

Groups of 5,500 people will be allowed to visit the Royal Crematorium for about an hour at a time; it is expected to serve 104,000 people per day.

Officers and volunteers will be on site to provide guidance and assistance to the general public, persons with disabilities, elderly persons, monks, and foreign visitors.

There will be five screening points at entrances to the site: three for the general public, one for persons with disabilities, and one for monks.

Those who wish to enter into the exhibition’s grounds should wear respectful clothing. (Updated on 30 October, 2017: Men must wear long pants and shirts with sleeves while women must be similarly modestly dressed. No see-through clothes or tank tops, bare shoulders. No sandals or flip-flops.)

The Bangkok Mass Transit Authority (BMTA) will arrange a total of six bus routes between 05:00 and 23:00 Hrs. to facilitate the travel of the people who wish to attend the exhibition.
