2024 Tourism Achievements for MICE in Thailand

Thailand's MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions) industry has demonstrated remarkable recovery in 2024, welcoming 1.2 million international visitors, a 42% year-on-year increase. This resurgence highlights Thailand's resilience and strategic focus on revitalising its MICE sector.

The convention segment saw a near 200% rise in delegate attendance compared to 2023, showcasing Thailand's capacity for large-scale conferences, supported by world-class venues and exceptional hospitality. A key highlight was the Thailand Incentive and Meeting Exchange (TIME) 2024, which generated THB 2.4 billion in revenue and hosted 64 major events, drawing over 36,000 global participants.

Thailand's appeal lies in its modern infrastructure, seamless international connectivity, and diverse venues - from urban convention centres to coastal resorts. Its blend of cultural richness and cutting-edge facilities creates unparalleled experiences for business travellers.

Looking ahead to 2025, Thailand will be hosting several large-scale international events. Money 20/20 Asia 2025, a fintech event in Bangkok, expects 5,000 delegates. The International Diabetes Federation (IDF) World Diabetes Congress 2025 will welcome 10,000 attendees, advancing global diabetes research. The Asia Pacific Life Insurance Congress (APLIC 2025) and THAIFEX-Anuga Asia 2025 will attract 10,000 and 85,000 participants, respectively, reinforcing Thailand's position as a top MICE destination.

Mr. Chiruit Isarangkun Na Ayuthaya, President of TCEB, expressed gratitude to MICE travellers for their trust, emphasising the focus on delivering high value and strong returns on investment. TCEB aims to attract 1.4 million overseas MICE visitors in 2025, leveraging the momentum from 2024. Through strategic initiatives and sustainability-focused programmes, TCEB continues to solidify the country's status as a global leader in the MICE industry.
