Dear TICA Members,
As we reflect on the state of Thailand’s MICE industry in 2025, it is clear that this sector continues to demonstrate resilience, adaptability, and long-term promise, even amid global and regional challenges. While overall tourism arrivals have experienced fluctuations, the MICE industry has remained a strong and dependable pillar of Thailand’s visitor economy.
One of the most encouraging developments this year has been the continued expansion of long-haul air connectivity. Increased direct flights from Europe, the Middle East, and the Americas have enhanced Thailand’s accessibility, reinforcing our position as a preferred hub for international meetings, incentives, conventions, and exhibitions. These improvements have contributed to longer average stays by MICE travellers and higher per-capita spending, underscoring the quality and value of Thailand’s MICE offerings.
In line with national priorities, Thailand is also advancing its ambitions to promote MICE activity in Southern Thailand. With its distinctive cultural identity, natural beauty, and improving infrastructure, the South presents new opportunities for destination diversification, regional development, and innovative event design beyond traditional gateways.
At the same time, we must acknowledge external challenges, including the adverse effects of the recent Thai–Cambodia border clashes. While these developments have created uncertainty in certain areas, the overall impact on Thailand’s MICE sector has been limited. Strong collaboration between the public and private sectors, clear communication, and confidence in Thailand’s stability have helped ensure business continuity and client reassurance.
The insights shared by TCEB President Dr. Supawan Teerarat throughout the year have been particularly valuable. Her emphasis on driving real sector transformation—rather than superficial improvement—has resonated deeply. The focus on high-value outcomes, sustainability, innovation, and positioning Thailand as the regional business gateway provides a clear and practical roadmap for the future of our industry.
As TICA members, whether DMCs, hotels, venues, or service providers, our success depends on working together as one strong ecosystem. By pooling resources, embracing creativity, and supporting one another, we can amplify Thailand’s competitiveness on the global MICE stage.
As we look ahead, I would like to wish all TICA members a healthy, happy, and successful 2026. Let us continue to collaborate as one big team, always seeking opportunity in every challenge, and proudly promoting Thailand as the ideal MICE destination for the world.
Warm regards,
Prachoom Tantiprasertsuk
