Thailand Secures 30 Global Events in FY2025, Marking a Major MICE Milestone

Thailand has reached a significant milestone in FY2025, further reinforcing its position as a leading global destination for Business Events and major international gatherings. Over the past financial year, the Thailand Convention and Exhibition Bureau (TCEB) successfully secured hosting rights for 30 major global events spanning all MICE sectors as well as mega-events, with confirmed schedules extending through to 2029. These achievements signal sustained international confidence in Thailand's capabilities and the strength of its collaborative MICE ecosystem.

Mrs Supawan Teerarat, President of TCEB, highlighted the importance of these wins, noting that FY2025 reflects Thailand's clear strategic vision and strong global appeal. She emphasised that securing such events demonstrates trust in Thailand's professional standards and its ability to leverage MICE as a catalyst for business, professional development and long-term economic growth, while enhancing the country's influence on the global stage.

Collectively, the 30 international events are expected to attract approximately 109,000 participants and generate an estimated economic impact of 9,845 million baht (around US$307 million). The portfolio includes meetings, incentives, conventions, exhibitions and large-scale sporting and lifestyle events, showcasing Thailand's versatility as a host destination.

Among the headline events is the Amway Leadership Seminar, scheduled for March-April 2026 in Bangkok, which will welcome more than 10,000 delegates from China. Bangkok will also host the International Dragon Award Annual Conference 2027 with an estimated 7,500 overseas delegates, and Gastech 2026, expected to draw around 50,000 participants. Beyond the capital, Chiang Rai will host the Spartan SUPER World Championship from 2026 to 2028, attracting an estimated 60,000 athletes and delegates from 50 countries over three consecutive years, while Pattaya is set to welcome Tough Mudder with 16,000 participants.

Additional high-profile conventions expected to attract over 1,000 international delegates include the World Boxing Council Annual Convention and the inaugural World Boxing Council Muay Thai Convention in 2025, the Federation of Asian Pharmaceutical Associations Congress 2026, the Asian Pacific Orthodontic Congress 2028, and the World Society for Reconstructive Microsurgery Congress 2029.

Together, these successes underscore Thailand's trusted capability to deliver world-class events, both in Bangkok and across regional destinations, positioning the Kingdom strongly for continued MICE growth in the years ahead.
