Thailand's Business Events sector is poised for a transformative year as the Thailand Convention and Exhibition Bureau (TCEB) unveils its Strategic Direction 2026 under the theme “From Change that Matters to Impact that Lasts.” Anchored in comprehensive Brand Insights research among 568 international industry experts, the strategy sharpens Thailand's global positioning as “Global-Asia's Trusted Gateway” for Meetings, Incentives, Conferences and Exhibitions.
Under the leadership of Dr Supawan Teerarat, TCEB has outlined an ambitious roadmap aimed at achieving 10% growth in 2026. The strategy centres on elevating Thailand's strongest industry sectors into compelling international selling points, integrating ESG principles across all Business Events, and embedding internationally recognised sustainability certification standards throughout the ecosystem.
A refined TCEB Go framework drives this agenda through three core pillars: Shift for Impact, Change for Growth and Meaningful Trust.
Shift for Impact focuses on deep sector penetration in high potential industries including medical science, wellness and longevity, biotechnology, future food innovation, advanced manufacturing, digital technology and AI. Enhanced market intelligence and data driven marketing underpin this approach, alongside initiatives such as Road to Net Zero Carbon and MEET WELL, promoting environmental responsibility and delegate wellbeing.
Change for Growth strengthens regional competitiveness by aligning Business Events with Thailand's economic clusters. Central Thailand focuses on food security and biotechnology, the Eastern Economic Corridor on smart manufacturing, Northern Thailand on creative industries, Northeastern Thailand on traditional medicine and wellness, and Southern Thailand on premium wellness tourism. This ensures measurable value creation for local industries and communities nationwide.
Meanwhile, Meaningful Trust enhances regulatory flexibility and service excellence. Expanded MICE Fast Track services across key international airports, streamlined work permit processes, clearer sustainability terms of reference and strengthened inter agency collaboration reinforce Thailand's reputation for reliability and ease of doing business.
For 2026, TCEB targets 29.4 million MICE travellers, generating THB 163 billion in revenue and increasing the sector's GDP contribution to 1.77%, underscoring Thailand's continued evolution as a high impact, sustainable global Business Events hub.
