How did you first get involved in the MICE industry, and what attracted you to it?

Looking back eight or nine years ago, our reason for joining the MICE industry was simple – there is always something new to learn. The best part about working in this field is that no matter how many events we’ve organised, no two have ever been the same. Each one challenges us to think differently, stay creative, and grow stronger through experience.

That’s what I love most about MICE – there’s no fixed formula or routine. It constantly pushes you to adapt, innovate, and evolve.

What has been a standout highlight or proud moment for you in your work this year?

In May this year, we managed the most challenging project we’ve ever undertaken. For me, the proudest moments came from watching my young and talented team in action. Most of them have less than two years of experience, yet everyone brought their A-game and gave their all. There were moments when we felt close to giving up, but we pushed through. When I saw the last bus leave the hotel, my heart was filled with joy. I felt incredibly proud of my team and how they came together when it mattered most.

Can you tell us about the project?

It was an incentive trip for an insurance company from Spain. Interestingly, it was the first MICE project I had ever worked on years ago as a junior, when I handled registrations and transfers. To now oversee such a project as the MICE team manager feels truly rewarding – a full-circle moment in my career.

How has being part of TICA shaped your career or perspective as a young professional?

I’ve been in the MICE industry for quite some time, and being a TICA member has helped me grow into a more professional individual. Through TICA’s workshops and familiarisation trips, I’ve gained valuable knowledge about Thailand’s diverse products while building meaningful networks within the industry. That, to me, is one of the best parts of my job.

How do you see Thailand standing out from other MICE destinations in the region?

Thailand stands out because it offers the perfect combination of world-class infrastructure and professional service. This balance not only ensures successful events but also creates unforgettable experiences for attendees — something few destinations can match.

In your view, how has Thailand’s MICE industry evolved or improved over the past year?

Over the past year, Thailand’s MICE industry has evolved significantly, thanks to advancements in sustainability, digital innovation, and AI integration, as well as a stronger focus on experiential events that highlight local culture. We’ve done an excellent job positioning Thailand as a regional hub for world-class business events in Asia.

If you could describe the MICE industry in one word — what would it be, and why?

If I could describe the MICE industry in one word, it would be connection — because connection is what links people to people, and people to businesses, driving collaboration, growth, and opportunity at every level.

Khun Pakaporn Sudasna

If you could describe the MICE industry in one word — what would it be, and why?

I would say impactful — because the MICE industry is all about creating impact, whether economic, professional, or emotional. Every event connects people, drives business growth, inspires innovation, and leaves a lasting impression on participants and destinations alike.
