TCEB Advances ‘Best Exhibition Nation of ASEAN’ at UFI APAC 2026

Thailand successfully hosted the UFI Asia Pacific Conference 2026 on 5–6 March at the Queen Sirikit National Convention Center (QSNCC) in Bangkok, welcoming around 300 industry leaders from across the region and beyond. Organised by the Thailand Convention and Exhibition Bureau (TCEB), the event reinforced the country’s positioning as “The Best Exhibition Nation of ASEAN” while highlighting Bangkok’s growing role as a regional exhibition hub.

The conference showcased Thailand’s strengths, including robust government support, expanding exhibition portfolios, new international events, and improved facilitation measures. Combined with measurable sustainability standards, these factors underline the country’s rising profile as a leading Business Events destination in ASEAN. In 2026, Thailand’s exhibition sector is projected to generate an economic impact exceeding 201 billion baht.

Chris Skeith, CEO and Managing Director of UFI, noted that Thailand was selected for its leadership in Southeast Asia’s fast-growing exhibition market, supported by strong infrastructure and effective public–private collaboration. He emphasised Thailand’s strategic role in shaping the future of exhibitions across the Asia-Pacific.

Supawan Teerarat highlighted that hosting the conference further elevated Thailand’s global standing, particularly following its recognition at the UFI Global Congress 2025 for its comprehensive exhibition policies and government support. She noted that the event provided a valuable platform to connect international organisers with ASEAN markets while showcasing Thailand’s readiness as a regional hub.

Delegates engaged in site visits and business exchanges with leading Thai organisers, exploring opportunities in high-growth sectors such as healthcare, wellness, food innovation, and automation. TCEB also supported emerging local organisers, helping them gain international exposure and expand their capabilities.

Major exhibitions scheduled for 2026, including THAIFEX, WHX and WHX Labs Bangkok, and METALEX, alongside global events such as Gastech, further reinforce confidence in Thailand’s ability to attract large-scale international exhibitions.

With continued efforts to streamline regulations and implement carbon reduction initiatives, Thailand remains committed to innovation, sustainability, and long-term leadership in the ASEAN exhibition industry.
