TICA’s latest Thailand Destination Update (TDU), held from 30th July to 1st August 2025, took participants to the riverside province of Kanchanaburi, renowned for its natural beauty, cultural heritage, and growing appeal as a business events destination. Just a short journey from Bangkok, Kanchanaburi offers delegates a refreshing mix of accessibility, authentic community experiences, and retreat-like tranquillity.
A Destination Rooted in Heritage and Sustainability
Kanchanaburi has embraced community-based and responsible tourism, making it an inspiring choice for business events. From meaningful CSR activities at Elephant World to a zero-waste workshop at Ban Sammakhi Tham, participants experienced how local initiatives are preserving traditions while promoting sustainable practices. These efforts highlight Kanchanaburi’s commitment to protecting its cultural and natural assets for future generations.
Highlights of TDU 2025 Kanchanaburi
Day 1 - introduced delegates to the charm of Ban Nhong Khao village, hands-on cultural workshops, and scenic attractions such as the Kanchanaburi Skywalk. The evening concluded with a wellness-themed dinner, “Element of Life”, at Comsaed River Kwai Resort.
Day 2 - immersed participants in sustainability and community engagement, from elephant care to cultural exchanges in Saiyok. The evening’s “Color of Life” networking dinner, hosted by TAT Kanchanaburi, combined local cuisine, vibrant storytelling, and a captivating light and sound performance by the river.
Day 3 - focused on heritage and innovation, with venue visits to Mallika City 1905 A.D., the scenic Won Dae Song Flora Park, and a memorable lunch at Krua Himmapan before concluding with a visit to the historic Kanchanaburi Paper Mill.
